How long does therapy take?

Each individual session is 50 minutes. Just like working out in a gym, therapy is most effective when approached with regularity and intention. Some clients find they can work through an issue in a few months while the majority of clients stay-on for longer. We will work together on what length of treatment feels right for you.

What is confidentiality?

Our sessions are private. I will not disclose that you are even my client except if you are considering doing harm to yourself or someone else. Or if there is credible information that an elderly and/or minor person, dependent and/or disabled person is being abused physically, emotionally, financially or is being neglected, in these situations I will need to break confidentiality.

What forms of payment do you accept? Do you take insurance?

I accept cash, check, electronic payments such as Venmo and Paypal. Payment is due at time of session. I provide Super Bills for those with FSA (flexible spending accounts) or PPO plans. I am not contracted with any specific insurance company.

Do you offer remote sessions?

Yes, I can offer telephone or on-line telemedicine video sessions through a HIPAA-compliant site on an as need basis.

What is your cancellation policy?

Currently my cancellation policy is 24 hours notice. Please call me before this time window or I will charge a session fee. Note that Friday afternoons would count as the cancellation window for Monday sessions. I realize things come up and typically I will let the first one go uncharged. I too will respect your time and not cancel on you without such notice.

Completing therapy.

When therapy comes to an end for whatever reason, I request a minimum of two termination sessions. It is important to review treatment goals, the progress you have achieved and to address any possible on-going treatment needs.
